Orbit’s Trail is a language learning application that helps students gain proficiency in a secondary language quickly. Developed by Jasmine Danyelle Lewis (Elle Haselford), Orbit’s Trail combines auditory, sensory, kinesthetic and visual learning styles with repetitive tasks to mimic naturally occurring interactions a student would encounter in the real world.

From the beginning, students will engage in basic routines, emotional experiences and tasks meant to get the mind thinking. Providing proper guidance in learning basic grammar and proper sentence structure, students will gain experience in expressing themselves in their new language quickly through lessons utilizing the most commonly used verb tenses.

It is our hope that by blending structured grammatical concepts with real life experiences, students can obtain communicative proficiency easier— leading to the avoidance of translation potholes for a more natural, native, approach.

The main objective of each lesson is to gain a basic understanding of sentence structure for interactions in the past, present and future. Through the use of the nineteen (19) commonly used verb tenses, students will learn how to properly express actions, thoughts and feelings that have occurred, are occurring and will occur as well. Plus, students will learn how to retell actions that the students have read and/or scene in books, newspapers and television.

There’s never a dull moment at Le Douxlemont Hotel! For Miccolo, Piccolo, and Chilo, each day is an adventure within their home and the world around it.

In each lesson, students will be introduced to five (5) new action verbs and learn how to properly read, write, contemplate and express those actions throughout the pup’s activities.

Within each scene, students will learn the following nineteen (19) essential verb tenses, plus an example of the most commonly used verb ‘Estudiar (which means, ‘to study’ in Spanish)’. Further, paired with colloquialisms and slang, students will be able to express themselves amongst natives in improper, non-formal ways for more relaxed, modern-day interactions amongst friends and peers. Lastly, student’s will be given the chance to apply what they’ve learned in both present and past interactions in several activities including verbal communication over-the-phone through our language line ASK ORBIT!

Outside of both the Orbit’s Trail Language workbooks and web application, students are able to contact our language line for a low-cost approach to natural communication assistance in your new language. Each interaction is paired with a workbook course lesson — keeping each phone call engaging and in-line with course objectives for language learners.

As if checking into a room accommodation, each student will be able to practice what they’ve learned through verbal interactive lessons with bilingual guides assisting them from beginning to end.

Should students want to practice listening and responsive tasks, Orbit’s Trail web portal will guide students through each course to assist with pronunciation, responding to questions and practicing listening skills to gain real world experience. Let’s Play!
